Our Common Life

A guided 6-month journey into deeper, more rooted community.

Build the community you long for - right where you are.

You’re not struggling because you’re broken or failing.
You’re struggling because the world tells you to do it all alone.

We live in a culture shaped by systems that prize individualism, productivity, and self-sufficiency. We've inherited narratives that make asking for help feel like failure. We're busy. Overextended. Disconnected. Not only from one another, but from our own instincts toward mutual care.

I believe it’s possible to move from carrying everything yourself to living with real support, connection, and interdependence.

In your bones, you know you’re a pack animal.
You hear the call to re-weave the village and live in rooted, regenerative ways.
You long to be held by, and hold, deep and meaningful community.

What we truly want isn’t just “community,” but familiarity, consistency, and belonging in everyday life—the freedom to ask for help without shame and to be part of a mutual, living web of care. The village.

When we experience this, we begin to see our lives not as isolated, but woven into a larger whole—where generosity, listening, and collaboration become natural ways of being.

And yet even when the desire for community is alive, many of us lack the skills, the examples, or the courage to keep going when it gets hard. And when it does get hard—as it always will—we pull back, thinking we've failed.

The truth is: we're wired for connection.

We just haven't been given the space, tools, or support to practice.

Our Common Life is a guided
6-month journey for those longing to weave real, everyday, in-person community into their lives.

Together, we move through the core themes and practices of community building in a small, supportive cohort - exploring not just the ideas of connection and interdependence, but what it actually looks like to live them.

Throughout our six months together, you’ll be guided through the process of community building while receiving live coaching, reflection, feedback, and support to help you integrate the material into your actual life and relationships.

Because community isn’t something we master intellectually. It’s something we practice together.

Whether you’re nurturing an existing project or just sensing the first threads of a vision, this space offers the tools, structure, and support to help you catalyze and deepen community in your everyday life.

Think of it as a watering hole—a place to return to for nourishment as you turn toward deeper, more rooted ways of being in community.

What past participants are saying:

This is for you if...

  • You’re craving more intentional, in-person community in your daily life.

  • You long for a closer web of support and shared life.

  • You have a vision for something more connected, but aren’t sure how to begin.

  • You’re already in community and want to deepen, clarify, or bring more structure and consistency to it.

  • You’re ready to move from doing it all alone into living with support and reciprocity.

  • You’re willing to show up—to practice, to get messy, to grow alongside others.

  • You’re building something, or want to—but need guidance, tools, and a place to be held while you do.

  • You don’t want to figure it all out by yourself anymore.

If you’re looking for a more rooted, interdependent way of life—and the community, support, and practice to help you live it—this might be the place for you.

Community is an abundant and renewable resource.

Community operates like a positive feedback loop, in that the more we invest in it, the more it resources us.

Systems of power like to promise security and abundance, but we all know that empires rise and fall.

The truest, safest, most secure investments you will make in this lifetime are in whole, healthy, relationships. Your community is what will carry you through whatever life throws your way.

Over six months, we’ll move through the arc of community building:

You’ll be guided through the process of bringing a specific community project from vision into tangible reality.

month one - clarify your vision

  • We’ll explore the kind of community you’re longing for and the needs you want it to meet in your life. Whether you already have a project in mind or are starting from scratch, we’ll clarify your vision and identify meaningful next steps toward creating it.

Month two - DEVELOP A COMMUNITY ORIENTATION

  • Together, we’ll identify the fears, barriers, and questions that may be holding you back from creating deeper community. We’ll work through these challenges while developing a community-oriented mindset rooted in connection, shared values, and collective care. Along the way, you’ll clarify your core values and explore what it looks like to truly prioritize what matters most.

MONTH THREE - craft your plan & initiate

  • Throughout the program, you’ll bring a meaningful community project to life with support, guidance, and accountability along the way. Together, we’ll explore how to clarify your intentions, create compelling invitations, and build relationships rooted in integrity.

MONTH FOUR - DEEPEN YOUR SENSE OF BELONGING

  • Relationships are hard work & often exploring our community longings brings up all kinds of questions & feelings about our worth & belonging. We’ll explore these themes together as we bolster you to do the vulnerable work of pursuing the connection you long for.

MONTH FIVE - Navigate conflict with confidence

  • You’ll develop the relational skills needed to navigate the challenges and nuances that inevitably arise in relationships. From communication, boundaries, and conflict navigation to shared values, and decision-making, these tools will support not only your community life, but your relationships as a whole.

MONTH SIX - spiral deeper over time

  • Inevitably things don't go quite as we imagine, or our visions do come to fruition and then something changes. We'll build tools & capacity to pivot, redesign, and deepen & expand your community experiences so that you're equipped long past the six months we spend together!

This is more than work — it’s how I live.

I’m Sarah Wildeman, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been shaped by the rhythms of community—growing up in a home grounded in hospitality and mutual aid, raising my young family in intentional community, and now cultivating a strong local network in an “ordinary” neighbourhood.

I’ve spent years learning (often the hard way) that real community isn’t always easy or tidy—but it’s deeply human and deeply worth it.

I created Our Common Life because I know how hard it can be to build and sustain meaningful connection in a busy, fragmented world. This space is here to help you grow your skills, expand your capacity, and navigate relational complexity with courage and grace.

I don’t show up with all the answers. But I do make space for honest conversation, shared learning, and the kind of community that lasts.

Let’s build something real—together.

Our Common Life runs for 6 months.
Our next cohort begins Spring 2026.

What’s included:

  • Monthly Workshops - Each month, you’ll receive a 90-minute guided workshop focused on a core aspect of community building. These workshops offer practical tools and frameworks you can apply directly to your life and relationships.

  • Monthly Group Coaching Calls - Join a live 2-hour group coaching call each month to bring your questions, challenges, and reflections to Sarah for direct spot-coaching. These sessions are designed to help you stay grounded, connected, and moving forward in bringing your community project to life.

  • Private online group space - You’ll have access to a private What’sApp group for real-time support. Stay connected between calls. Ask for help, share updates, and celebrate wins.

  • Weekly Guidance + Practices - Throughout the program, you’ll receive weekly emails with reflections, practices, prompts, and encouragement to support you through the unfolding process of creating meaningful community. Think of these as gentle touch points to help you stay inspired, intentional, and in motion between calls

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to begin.

Together, we can start building the kind of world—and the kind of life—you’ve been longing for.

Let’s create a world where you’re no longer doing it all alone.

Let’s begin weaving your common life—together.

    • starting a potluck group,

    • making local friends or getting to know neighbours,

    • deepening an existing relationship or team dynamic,

    • starting a men’s or women’s circle,

    • building a network of families for mutual support,

    • weaving inter-generational connections into daily life,

    • starting a community initiative,

    • envisioning a co-living situation.

    • Clarity and focus: Define your project's purpose, goals, and the community impact you wish to create.

    • Practical tools: Access resources and frameworks to guide your project development and implementation.

    • Community support: Build lasting relationships with like-minded individuals who share your commitment to community.

    • Accountability: Stay motivated and on track with regular check-ins and group support.

We don’t want cost to be a barrier. That’s why this offering is priced on a sliding scale—an act of community care in itself. When those with more financial capacity pay at the higher tiers, it helps create access for others. This model is built on trust, so we simply ask that you choose the tier that reflects your current reality.

Doors open again Fall 2026.

This is an intimate, small-group program - intentionally kept that way so each person gets the support they need. That means spots are limited.

We’d love to have you with us.

Your story, your perspective, your presence will shape this space. You belong here.

If you’re a yes to this work, I want to really honour your commitment to community building, and the courage I know it can take to show up in this way.

This is bigger than you.

This work is a healing for the collective.

Actively choosing to depend on each other in integral ways changes us. When we offer hospitality, or receive someone’s generosity… when we see our lives tied up with someone else’s, it is both beautiful and vulnerable. It reminds us of our needs, and of our capacity. Choosing this interdependence is an act of rebellion in a world that tells us to look out only for ourselves and “our own”.

This work is a remembering for our ancestors, A reclamation for ourselves, and a legacy for our children.

Thank you. I can’t wait to get to know you!
